Pakistan launched attacks against suspected terrorist locations within Iran, Pakistan’s foreign ministry said in a statement, after Tehran’s strikes on a location inside Pakistani territory earlier this week.

“A number of terrorists were killed during the intelligence-based operation,” the foreign ministry said. “Over the last several years, in our engagements with Iran, Pakistan has consistently shared its serious concerns about the safe havens and sanctuaries enjoyed by Pakistani-origin terrorists?.?.?.?inside Iran.”

Alireza Rahmati, deputy to the governor of Iran’s Sistan-Baluchestan province, told state television that Pakistan launched missiles at an Iranian border village at 4.30am local time, killing four children and three women who were foreign nationals. He said “another explosion” happened near the border town of Saravan, causing no casualties.
